Hi guys thinking of getting an S2 Elise just wondered what the heaters are like in these things? Had a vx220 a while ago and wondered if the Elise suffers from the same poor heating system

My understanding is that, yes, they have the same heater as the VX220 so it will probably fall to bits and isn't very good even when it works. You could try one of the fancy ones with aircon.

Not really comparable, but I had an MGF as a daily driver for a year or so. You just get used to leaving your coat on...

When I lived in Norfolk before I escaped, my next door neighbour worked for Lotus at Hethel on production build.

You don't want one of those as a daily driver.

Cheers guys for your replies. I know ha ha used to run the VX as a daily and it was a nightmare would've only considered if it had a better heating system to be honest but it unfortutely sounds as dreadful

I know you are talking S2 Elise. My son had a S1 ( maybe they improved it with the S2) it was a great car in the summer. However, the roof leaked no matter what was tried. Standing on the seat to get in on a wet day left a "damp patch" on ones rear. They command big prices now, but I could not imagine using one as a daily driver...

I ran a Westfield as my main car for 3 years. No heater at all and the roof was a joke. But, I do have form for doing some certifiably stupid things I suppose. Having said all that, it was so much fun to drive that I kind of didn’t care.
We lived at 1200’ above sea level in rural Scotland at the time so it was often a bit fresh temperature wise, but a thick leather jacket, decent gloves and a preparedness to ignore any discomfort offset most of it.
That car took us on a lot of “adventures” in those days, down as far as southern Spain, into Italy and all over France including the Alps a few times.
Wish I still had it sometimes, but y’know, kids, mortgages, old bones etc. ;-)
