May I have your suggestions for a parking solution at Heathrow for a week during half term please.

Willing to try “Meet and greet “ as long as they don’t take the car for a joy rise.

Or Parking on site.

Or parking nearby and courtesy bus to the airport.

Travelling from Nottingham .

Many thanks

I always use APH to book my airport parking not used them for Heathrow but have for Gatwick, Stansted and Manchester in the past and always been good value

I've used APH as well. MoneySavingExpert has a page on this, including links to his recommended comparison sites:

Which terminal?

Sometimes on site short term can be ok on price if you book it in advance, although peak holiday time may come at a premium.
Mostly I tend to use on site long term. Short bus ride to terminals, pretty efficient service and not too expensive if you pre-book.

I just use this - official parking. Gives you options. I won't use private operators meet and greet or off airport parking.

Usually end up with long stay, which is really no different to business parking - for 2/3/4 it's just outside the perimeter road rather than inside. Occasionally business parking is within £5 the same price in which case I use that - in theory the buses are slightly more frequent but in practice it doesn't seem to make any difference.

Book as soon as you can, half term will be expensive regardless.

Many years ago I used to use a free parking spot on a newish housing development which was around a 5 - 10 minute walk to a holiday inn hotel where I was able to hang around the front of the hotel long enough to get on a free shuttle bus to the airport!

Not sure the free shuttle is still a thing and I would assume the parking spot is now residential parking however you may still find somewhere.

Alternatively and more conveniently I have used drive way parking where you pay a 3rd party to park on someone’s driveway and found it both convenient and considerably cheaper.
I did this once at Heathrow and it was a 5 minute walk to Heathrow Terminal 4 railway station.
You keep your keys, the only thing you have to do is leave a sheet of A4 paper with some details on the dash.

I've used these guys before and never had any problems (even when leaving them with a new 3.2l Audi convertible).

I have used both of their services in the past (park and ride and meet and greet) and both were efficient.

I used a park on the drive service twice, once in Central London and another time near Hounslow West which is on the Heathrow tube. You need to read the online info and any pictures (including Streetview) and reviews carefully to ensure it’s a viable safe space. The Central London one was a tight underground car park, OK for my Civic but a big car would require a lot of manoeuvring and might have been vulnerable to other cars as the space was not big.
The Hounslow drive was offering space for three cars but when I got there the two people ahead of me hadn’t left enough room for a third car. To be fair it was very tight for them to have done so. Luckily the householder was there and moved his own car so I got in but I wouldn’t have liked to arrive there when he was out and I had a plane to catch.

Personally, for Heathrow, I would stick with the official on airport but if you opt for a driveway do your research into exactly what is on offer and be wary of anything that isn’t a clear marked single space.

Maybe let the train take the strain.

Talking of Houndslow, would there be any merit in seeing if there are any free, non-residents-only and safe/secure (if there is such a thing in London or any major city these days) on-street parking?

Then the OP could, if they only have one suitcase and a small carry-on bag/rucksack, walk a relatively short distance to one of the three Hounslow tube stations and then on by the Piccadilly Line to Heathrow.

A quick look at Google Maps showed a busy (parking wise) but reasonably promising (at first glance) Wesley Ave or the western half of Bulstrode Ave. Admitedly I have no idea what the security issue would be like leaving the car for a longer period, and I suspect locals wouldn't look too kindly on people leaving a car for a long period.

Never tried that myself for that long, only all-day parking away from city centres on free street parking for the day in places like Cambridge, Stevenage, Truro and towns in Cornwall more generally to avoid horrific town centre parking charges.

Just a thought.

A friend surprised me when he told me he used this system when flying from Luton.

Just knocked on a few doors asked to park outside in return for a bottle of wine !
