Hyundai i40 Tourer - Wiper Blade Judder - Mikec80
Hi all,

can anyone advise please as I have an issue that’s driving me mad,

i have a judder on the drivers side wiper blade, I know it’s not the actual blade as I have replaced twice just to be sure (I’ve used Bosch aero twin and a Michelin Rain force.

best way I can describe is when it is raining when the blade wipes to the side and about to come back down you can physically see it judder as if it’s not making full contact with the window, if I use the washer fluid it doesn’t do it but once it has wiped that away it starts again?

could it be something on the windscreen? I have cleaned it but have read that sometimes you need to use a claybar etc? Or could it be the wiper arm itself?

appreciate any advice

thanks
Mike

Clean the windscreen with warm water + white vinegar + microfibre cloth

Stronger solution vinegar & water and cloth wipe the blades.

If not 100% repeat

Thanks I’ll give that a try.

If that still doesn't solve it then you will need to try altering the angle of the arm. On most cars this means bending it slightly, on others there may be an adjustment.

Try a genuine wiper blade and lubricate the wiper linkages.

I would decontaminate the screen with a fall out remover ( auto gym 'magma' is the best there is) followed by clay barring, works for me.
