Peugeot 308sw II - Wishbone Bushes - labour time - Fyldeboy

Just had the wishbones replaced on my Peugeot 308SW (2015) @45k.

Just wanted to check roughly how much time should be charged to do both sides?

Doesn't your invoice say how much time was charged, and the labour rate ?

Certainly does, but want to see from the knowledgable people on here if it is reasonablr - 2½ hours

Doesn’t sound totally out of order . Is that for the complete arms , because you’ve put bushes in your title?

Sounds fine to me. I wouldn't have been surprised to be charged half a day.

Well, it doesn't sound fine to me on such a young low mileage car! Has it been regularly rallied? Are Pug 308 suspensions of particularly poor quality? Or is the garage taking this punter for a ride? (I have just responded to a post where he has been persuaded to have major brake work.....). If you have the right training and equipment, extracting and replacing bushes takes minutes, not hours.

Our roughly equivalent Ford Focus estate has just been scrapped at 21yrs old and 160,000+ miles with all its original suspension bushes intact and still serviceable.

I wasn't commenting on the necessity of the work, just the labour involved.

It might be quite a quick job (if you can get the old ones out), but you've still got to get it on the ramp, take the wheels off, clean and grease everything etc etc. 2.5 hours doesn't seem like an excessive amount of time from start to finish.

I've nothing against a 308SW as such, as I drive a 207SW (as all regulars on here will be tired of hearing) ; but I wouldn't consider 'rallying' in either of them :-)

Word of warning for 308 T9 fitted with LED headlamps - one of the headlamp levelling sensors is fitted to the front right suspension arm. Non franchised garages & even some Peugeot main dealers manage to damage them when carrying out front wishbone / strut removal / replacements as they forget to disconnect the sensor first.
