Hi everyone

Which is a good diagnostic tool to get that would work on both VW and Ford?

Got a budget of around £300.

VW Group cars need specific diagnostics, VCDS by Ross-Tech sold by Gendan is the only sensible buy - it doesn't do Fords, only generic ones would do both - not nearly as good as VCDS.

Thanks RT. Yea, I knew VCDS was the go to for VW but I’ve just bought a 2nd hand Focus as the Golf we’ve had for 8 years has issues which I want to fix and hopefully give it to one of our lads as a runabout.

Depends what you want to do . There are plenty of reasonable price multi make scanners out there that will give faults and live data on both Vw and Ford , but if you want to do programming of modules, then we are talking a load more money .
