Vectra C (Elite 16v Auto) 2003 - Date display gone back to 2002, wont reset. - Jayela

After battery replacement a year ago, (left battery-less for a day or two, I know that was a mistake), I had some minor electrical malfunctions that all self-corrected in use. Except this – the date display reset itself to September 2002, (maybe the original factory setting?). It moves on a day at a time OK. I have gone through the apparently straightforward ‘reset date’ procedure to reset to the current date, several times, but the reset does not lock in, when I come out of the reset page, the displayed date is still 2002. Non-critical annoyance, but I’d like to fix it. Any advice appreciated.

Is the automatic date setting from the radio via RDS de-selected (assuming that was available for your model)?

Thanks. There are no references in available menus to 'automatic date setting', only to 'time'.

I've always assumed the automatic time update included the date. Certainly clocks at home including the central heating timer know what day of the week it is after a power cut. Have you tried tuning to a BBC station as in my experience, not all commercial stations broadcast the signal?

Thanks for your interest. I agree, and have set the time menus to autoupdate accordingly, and yes, I always tune to BBC stations!
