I bought a Vauxhall combo van from an online site 6 weeks ago. Within a week the clutch went. The next week the starter motor went.

Two days ago I was driving when suddenly all of the dashboard dials died. Apart from that everything else seemed ok. After 15mins everything returned to normal. They then died a further time for 5mins.

Today I have tried to start the van. It cranks, starts and then after two seconds the engine stops and a click is heard. This happens over and over again. I haven’t managed to get it to start. Sometimes the van just cranks but doesn’t start.

Does anybody have any idea what this sounds like? Hope you can help me.

Sounds like you have a battery/ charging issue . Get the alternator tested along with the battery.

Check the engine earth connection, as it might have been disturbed during the clutch change.
