2012 ford transit van - transit light problem - frank mellin

Have just purchased a 2012 ford transit van and notice that the headlights and side lights come on when I start the vehicle and stay on until I turn the ignition off.

Sometimes I have to turn the key several times before the starter motor comes to life.

are these problems likely to be connected on are they two separate issues

Any advice would be appreciated.

The first issue with the headlights is not a problem ,it's a characteristic of the vehicle. With the ignition on, the headlights become the drls .(daytime running lights). The starter motor problem could be related to the battery and/or the connections to it. check under the driver seat ,some of these transit models have 2 batteries. Intermittant starter operation could be a faulty ignition switch .Common issue but cheap and easy to fix.
