Could be diesel temperature sensor. Common age related fail part on Peugeot diesels. Doesn't put an engine management light on either, and doesn't show up on cheapo code readers. A Lexia / Diagbox scan should identify if that's the issue.

Its not a cheap part so I wouldn't risk throwing it at the car without confirmation.
