Kia Venga - Radio no power - Shane Fitzgerald

Recently bought 2nd hand Kia venga and all was fine. But the battery was changed as part of the deal. Now the radio doesn't work, at all. Everything else is fine but there is no power to the radio and no where to input a code. I was wondering if any wires get connected directly in to the battery compartment or anyone else had similar experiences.

There is no direct wiring from the battery to the radio . I would disconnect the battery for 5 mins and re-try.

A colleague had a similar problem. The radio on his would power sometimes, but not always and would turn off sometimes whilst he was driving. It then failed altogether.

It was traced to a power cable which runs alongside the handbrake. Bad routing was causing a short circuit.
