Vauxhall Astra - CD player delete - Ian Nicolls
I have a 2016 Astra 1.6 elite nav which has a CD player that I never use taking up nearly all of my glovebox. I would like to delete it but if I unplug it I loose the display on the central screen! Is there a way to disconnect it without the system ‘crashing’? I’ve asked at two Vauxhall dealerships - neither knew the answer as it’s a very rare option they said! And they weren’t particularly helpful in wanting to find out for me - just said they didn’t know and that was it! They seemed unwilling or unable to get an answer from Vauxhall it seemed. Any suggestions as to is this possible?

My first port of call would be a local car audio specialist. My guess is there's a bit of a software update required to tell the car the CD player is no longer installed. If they can't help you could try

Never used them, but they seem to be well regarded on Astra forums.

It’s possible that the unit is more than just a CD player. As you have taken it out ,how many connectors does it have and are there any optic cables ?
