Should I be concerned about comment on MOT about warm engine.

Engine oil temperature check: Temperature gauge showed warm engine.

Sounds more like an observation.

The coolant temperature gauge on my petrol Fabia is showing normal, about 90 degrees C, well before the oil temperature hits 85/90.

May be worth asking the testing station for an explanation.

I think it will depend on how far you drove to the test station, and how soon they tested the car afterwards.

As mentioned the emissions test needs to be done at running temperature,

When I have observed they have left the engine running whilst doing the other checks to keep the engine warm for the emissions which is usually done towards the end.

Thank you. I normally use the Council run MOT, my car has never failed. This time I had to pay £96, at least car is safe and road worthy.

That place must have been desperate, the usual cheap rate is about £40.

But you need to catch up on the full story here. I think the £96 included a replaced anti-roll bar bush ? If it didn't, then it was a rip-off.

I hadn't read the OP's other post when I responded. This thread just mentioned the MoT. Fair enough with the bush I guess.

I think the ATS usual price is £30 and the Groupon offer has been on for a year or two. The one I use has been fair.

Just for info, the maximum fee that can be charged for a cars MOT is currently £54.85 as set by law. Garages can charge less but never more.
