This is just my opinion
Years ago when I worked in a garage, write offs in top categories were re` shelled which a certain time was given in which to rebuild or swap bits from write off to new shell, I think that is the best way to do it
I do not like the idea of rebuilding a car after an accident as the very often missed damage sometimes means its too much work to either make a profit, or due to where damage has occurred can mean the repair will not be up to scratch, either in the way the car will perform on the road, or problems that cannot be seen and only show up while being used, often its severe tyre wear due to chassis alignment, other problems can occur which is never taken into account
it has been said that a jigged chassis should be ok and usually pulled within OEM specs will be perfect, but they have been known to spring out of line and is not spotted, so problems with possible crabbing on some cars with severe tyre wear
I wouldn`t touch a write off due to not knowing its full extent of damage which some try to cover up which to me makes a write off either unreliable or dangerous
again this is only my opinion and plenty of people will disagree but thats up to them......
