Yes, it's entirely possible the catalytic converter is there to change CO to CO2.

Display is only to 2 decimal places. It could actually have been 0.004% which rounded down is 0.00%.

Just looked at my 2007 Focus (1.6 petrol) MOT from last year. It had a CO reading of 0.000% at idle.

I didn't get a printout of emissions at my last MOT, it didn't bother me, as it passed.

Should I have had one?

Suzuki Baleno 1.0 automatic - CO 0.00% at MOT today - Xileno

No I don't think so - if it passed it passed. I suppose if it was a marginal pass then that might be useful to know so that it could be investigated in slower time before the next MOT.

I was just given my emissions test results, they were clipped conveniently to the bill!

You can always ask for a printout if one doesn't appear automatically.

I didnt get a copy for my rover v8 in February, but I would be interested in seeing it. Is there a way to get a copy other than asking the mechanic?

I don't think the details are entered in the DVLA system, so you have to ask at source - tho I may be wrong. The places I use are always happy to provide, but usually have to be asked.

Whenever I get an MOT done the emissions print-out is always stapled to the MOT certificate.

At 71,000 miles my nice clean Audi 6.0l was CO 0.00% and HC 1 ppm.

At 65,000 miles my dirty old TR7 2.0l was CO 1.05% and HC 351ppm.

Perhaps you could fit a second-hand cat-converter, John .... :-)

No chance. It needs every horsepower it can get!

Many years ago I had an Audi 100 2.0GL and when it was about ten years old the cat developed a leak. My trusty indy agreed the cheapest solution (the car was pre 1992) was to remove it and weld in a piece of pipe in its place. Result!

Did this improve/change the engine note John? I would love to do that on my rover v8 as it is sounding so strangled. Might have to go for fast flow cats instead being a 2004 but still interested in how no cats affected your Audi

The mot emissions tester produces 2 copies of the test results. One should go to the customer (optional) , the other goes with the test station records . This will all be changing in the near future as all the electronic test equipment will be “linked in “ directly to Dvsa, so all results will immediately appear on Dvsa database.

I'd quite like to know my results too, but I'd be reluctant to ask any such awkward questions on the Taiwan 6 monthly test at a private centre, because (a) I'd seriously doubt the kit is correctly calibrated and (b) its quite likely they might pass it anyway, but not if I started getting specific.

Government centre nothing much to lose.
