My local small garage recently replaced the drivers side door window mechanism and motor but ever since, the folding door mirrors no longer work either from the switches on the door panel or when the car auto-locks when walking away. The garage did double check the wire connectors are all plugged in. Both the garage and I cannot seem to fathom why this function no longer works. Any ideas anyone?

I would check the fuses first, as you say both mirrors are affected . If they're ok then a wire must have got damaged when the door card was removed. I have not removed a door card on a MK3 but on the MK2 it was tricky.
