BMW X! (E84) Radio Antenna Amplifier - autumnboy

Radio reception is crap on all 3 bands.

I have fin on the roof from which I'm told is for the SATNAV system, but dont have SATNAV.

Some say the rear window demister grid is used as Antenna, which the demister seems ok.a

Any one know if there is amplifer located anywhere or if the fin is used for the radio and it has its own replaceable amplifer.

Looking at the parts diagram, I would say the radio amp is in the fin antenna on the roof . Looks very similar to the aerial fitted to the Mini cabriolet .
