Citroen jumpy - 2011 citroen jumpy 2.0 ltr diesel won’t start - Vetput
Hello, let me introduce my selve. I’m a dutchy living in france having some old english motorcycles an a jumpy that wont start.
Let me start from of the beginning, driving back home i lost power and rpm, could get it going but finaly i had to stop. I squeezed the rubber ball and suprisingly i had all back. I hurried home. The ne t day it only runs stationair and than it stopped like that. I checked the system and have the following codes, P1351 and P1198. The first code says IDM imputcircuit malfuction/ ignition coil control circuit high voltage, the second pump rotor control underfueling.
I have changed the fuel filter and the high fuel pump pressure regulator. In the fuse box are two fuses for the fuelpump which is in the fuel tank, only checking the parts manual according the VIN there is no fuel pump in the tank.
When i cranck the engine i see no fuel movement. The local garage advised to change the BSM, i have resetted it but still no running engine
Battery is new, anyone a suggestion what it could be?

Never heard of a Citroen Jumpy. (good name, doubtful marketing), but I am puzzled as to why its got an ignition coil if its a diesel.

goes on at length about how that codes definition is highly manufacturer specific, and some of the examples they list have no obvious connection with ignition coils, though they don't seem to list any Citroens.

You''ll need to get the specific manufacturers code definition to make sense of these codes, or just ignore them, which I'd be inclined to.

Ignoring them, sounds like your fuel pump isn't working. If this is true,i ts either not getting power, not getting control, its intake or its output are blocked, its jammed, or its bust.

The jumpy is the same model as the peugeot expres and the fiat ducato. The msg of the ignition coil is related to the glowplugs. The strange thing is, as i metioned, according the citroen parts list( checked at two garages) no electrical fuel pump is in the fuel tank. So indeed with switching on the power there is no fuel pump running. It must be that the HP pump is sucking the fuel what apperently is not happening.
For me its strange that engine stopped like that while running stationary

The hp fuel pump on a common rail Diesel engine does not have the ability to suck up fuel from the tank . It is a fluid transfer pump . You may have an air leak in the fuel supply system . Locate the fuel return pipe from the pump and use a suction device to pull the diesel through the system . If you have a diagnosis tool , you should be able to read actual fuel pressure. Needs to be at least 120 bar .

That is what i have read all over and thats why its strange to me that there are fuses but the manual says no low press pump in the tank. Doesn’t seems logic to me

As a general rule , but not 100% , if it’s got a fuel bleeder rubber ball in the engine bay , then there is no lift pump in the tank .

So no fuelpump than because i’ve got the rubber bleeder ball. I’m draining the ECU now to get rid of faulty msg’s etc

There doesn't seem a lot of point to clearing the codes until you think you might have fixed it.

Could be but if a faulty bit stays in the ecu it could trigger/ block constant a normal operation. Yourestart and it resets itselve.
Found out that the ventilators are not working also. Maybe somewhere a fuse is blown.

Gentleman, i’ve got it running. What i did is open the outlet on the HP pump, squeeze the rubberball and have some one crank the engine. It worked. Now i have the following, its sometimes not or slow reacting on the gas. Than suddenly it spins up. The message i got is the air mass meter, so i guess that could be the cause. The other issue now is that the engine sounds raw with a klicking noise. Than its gone and the engine runs smooth till it returns.
Tomorrow i will restart and see if there is no airleak in the fuel syst.

Problem solved. I replaced the high pressure sensor in the fuel rail and its running fine. Only air mass sensor indication si i replace that one also. Further its driving fine again. Thanks to all of you for helping out
