Vauxhall Astra - car starting problems - gary oatley

2012 vauxhall astra 2.0 diesel,,jumped in car this morning started with no problems got to end of my street and she stalled,,would not start again just making that clicking noise..i tried to jump start it and nothing just clicking sound,,,anyone have any ideas of what the problem is..cheers

My guess would be that the alternator isnt charging the battery. Are all of the battery terminals on tightly?

Failed battery. Starting was probably its last hurrah and it had nothing once you tried to start it again.

The fact that the car started no problem then stalled very shortly later , tends to suggest that this is not a battery or alternator problem . Needs checking properly.
