AT 10 years old, I would definitely not worry about it.

Being an ex police undercover car will mean nothing at resale.

AS usual, why did you not ask before buying?

I’m not worried about it being ex police I was more interested in the servicing of it and what it had done it had full service from 2014 and it’s had 2 owners mot and service only from 14 so just wanted to find out if there was any way of checking

Do you know which police force it was used by? Maybe their fleet department may still have records from when it was serviced by police workshops?

It used to be the case that police-owned vehicles were serviced on the button and so made decent used buys.

To be honest, buying a 10-year-old car is going to be a bit of a gamble anyway. I would find an indie garage who specialises in BMWs and get them to change gearbox fluid and do any other major service items, then you know they've been done, rather than guessing and hoping.

I always understood that police cars had to have been serviced correctly so they were 100% reliable. But depending on what they were used for, they could have had a pretty hard life - and they certainly weren't being driven by careful owners.
