Hi All,
Im a complete newbie in buying cars. I have just come out of my company car scheme after about 20 years, of crappy motoring..
Im fairly set on an auto 520d, maybe M Sport, maybe touring...tbc
I have about 20k cash, but Id like to spend less.
The way I see it i can get an OK F10 16/17 for around 13/14k depending on the normal stuff, plenty about. Or if i go up to about 16-17k i can get one of a handful of G30 (i.e. the newer model) with a very very basic spec and highish miles (they seem to be around 65-80k at this price point, all SE salons)
The extra 2K is not really a problem I guess. As long as I get one registered before April 2017, to avoide the tax bill :-)
My question is, would the extra cash I spend on the G30 be a bit of a waste if i come to sell the motor in a few years?
My feeling is by 2022, there will be quite a lot of 2017 5 seiers about and the gap between them and a 2016/17 F10 will be closer than it is now??, if that make sense.
Maybe I'm over thinking it :-)
