In Brief,

Easy to drive, quiet, comfortable, although youngrovergirl actually prefered the "sportyish" seats in the previous MGZS.

Not done many miles due to current circumstances but about 36mpg locally, furthest trips have been 20-30 miles each way. (normally would have been 3000ish miles in 13 weeks.)

Goes plenty well enough for me, and if needed lower gears and throttle application does the trick.

Peace.. No strange warning lights and no stress.

Our neighbours have a Sportage. It never goes wrong, despite a complete lack of maintenance apart from I think an annual service. It's 4 years old, utterly dependable and competent vehicle.

At 4 years old it should be reliable, my commuting car is 10 years old (had it from new) and has never once let me down, I had to bump start it off the drive 2 years ago as the battery suddenly gave up but absolutely nothing has gone wrong,

It gets a service once year and that's all it ever needs, never uses a drop of oil never needs the coolant topped up either, and that's how most modern cars should be.

I've just had the breaks and air con regased at a local indi who I've used for years and will go there for a service later on

Have to agree, four years old should be reliable, we use a 12 year old Volvo V70d about which the same comments could also be made.

Not surprised ORB, I’ve yet to hear anyone complain about one of these and there’s loads of them around here thanks to an enthusiastic local dealer.

Kia, need say no more.

Probably one of the best car makes around at the moment.

I've had 2 Cee'd's now; a MK1 57 Reg which was one of the best cars I've owned and now I own a Mk2 12 Reg, which is even better!

That's a decent mpg you're getting there. Well done.

Must have been driving like a nun to get that mpg from a 1.6 NA Sportage!

You'd be surprised how well you can do. A bit of anticipation, slowing early might mean you don't actually stop Gentle acceleration . A few pounds extra psi in the tyres. No unnecessary weight in the boot. Sparing use of the a/c. Remove roof racks. A new car clean air filter. Travel at night when its cooler. Small changes can make a big difference...even believe it or not, driving in thin soles shoes or even socks!

I’m not surprised. I regularly manage over 50mpg on a run from a ten year old Toyota Avensis 1.8 petrol estate and that’s without driving like the neighbourhood priest.

You haven't seen how some of those priests drive. :)

ORB. I had the sister car from Hyundai, a 1.7TDI Tucson DCT (diesel auto) and didn't manage 45MPG brim to brim even when I treated it very gently!

Must be all the flat roads in your area! :-)

Kia Sportage 1.6GDi 2020 - 13 weeks on. 1200 miles - _

Flat (tish) roads, but mostly only up to 60ish MPH. plenty of 30-40 50's in what we have driven.

but very much driven anticpating a bit more, and more relaxed driving style too.

A 'brim-to-brim' of only 20 litres or so is unlikely to deliver a particularly accurate observation. Better to observe over several tankfuls to minimise the inaccuracy of the almost inevitably variable 'brim' level of up to a litre or more and to obtain a more meaningful figure for totality of use. A long motorway drive at 65mph in a tall gear which only ever engages at 56mph or more (our Peugeot 2008 EAT6) will result in a reading which, although briefly interesting, is far away from the 'real mpg' of general use.

Most petrol cars of similar size, age, weight and power have an mpg figure within 10% of each other. So for our low mileage cars it didn't even get on our list of priorities and comparisons when choosing them, especially one where the annual depreciation cost far exceeds the fuel bill.

I agree, that is why I have a little notebook in the car to note date, litres and mileage.

Absolutely nothing to report!

Comfy, quieter than the predecessor and does the job.

Last few weeks have been mostly urban but fuel consumption ok.
