If you look back it has never been the busiest of forums & perhaps at the moment people have other priorities?

That exactly. It's still here if people need it.

Absolutely - business as usual, assuming that Palco meant simply this section of the forum.

Most threads on this section are about disputes with car dealers. Since these are now shut, this section will be quieter until things get back to normal.

Bizarre question when he posted it in the Legal forum and it appeared in the list.

As this legal forum has suddenly come to life again I would like to ask why a small minority of people are happy to post a question / seek a solution to a problem but seem unable to return to the forum to say thanks folks for your input and here’s how things turned out in the end.

These people probably aren't interested in the forum per se - they just want to tap into our collective knowledge. And like many, they treat us as if we were Google - just type in the minimum to get a result - and why would you thank a search engine?

I don't think it has much to do with lack of manners or lack of respect, though that it undoubtedly how it comes over. From time to time I refuse to answer queries about Ford radio codes if the poster can't be bothered to make an effort with his request.

It's all to do with the way human interaction has changed with the internet. Information - good and bad - is everywhere and instantly accessible. It is cheap and it has cheapened the way we interact with each other.

I have noticed that this section has been quiet lately. I put it down to the fact most queries are variations on previously asked questions. The usual suspects will pass on their personal experience of a particular problem in the hope it may assist someone else. There is very little 'new' in the problem area surrounding motoring. Really large problems really need the attention of a legal expert anyway. I too am saddened by the fact that some posters never update their thread with any information regarding outcomes, very disappointing. However there is always the odd gem every now and then.
