Is my model Antara really stop/start. Should I not have Rev counter with this on?

If it has Stop/Start there will be a button to temporarily switch it off. I’m struggling to see the link between Stop/Start and the rev counter.

My Astra has a marking between 0 and 1000rpm where the needle sits when stop/start is activated. Assume that's the connection the OP is making.

Don't follow that. On both our cars when the engine stops the rev counter needle goes to zero. Any more than that the engine is still running.

Presumably a visual reminder that the engine is in Stop/Start mode and not switched off.

Exactly mcb100. This is the first car I've had with s/s and I've never investigated how other makers do it.

Thanks for the replies. I don’t know which was why I was asking but my thought process was in line with replies referencing visual indicator. Where would I find the switch that would turn it on/off then?

I think I’d start with the handbook, but the usual icon on a Stop/Start override button is a capital A with a circle (or nearly complete circle) around it. By default it would be switched on, and will switch back on every time the car is restarted, but can be switched off for that journey with above described button.
