VW CC - condensation rear lights - TopScot

seems to be alot of condensation on my 2016 VW CCs tail lights. Its booked in this wed. Before the dealer does what they are good at, can anyone advise so I'm ready for them. Many thanks.

When you say 'on' I suppose you mean 'in' ? If that's so, take off the cluster and check the seals - if that is end-user possible of course .... The dealer may try to sell you whole new clusters .. :-))

I think you are going to be up for new light units here . There is a bonded joint between the front and back part of the lamp . I would suspect the water is entering here .

If it is the bonding failed, and unless the dealer is going to do you a really good deal on new lights, i'd be inclined to remove them and dry out thoroughly and then reseal around the joins and any other likely points of entry with resin type glue, eg good old Araldite or similar.

On my 2008 Zafira, it was actual water, not just condensation in rear light clusters. I drilled a hole in the bottom of the light unit, having removed it from the car so you can't see the hole. In the past, I've had condensation in front headlamps and solved that by removing the rubber seal so air can get in passed the bulb holder. Solved.
