HI
Due to retirement I am selling my Golf TDI it was first registered July 2008 and is almost 12 yrs old. I have personally owned it for almost 10 yrs it has a full service history and 11 months MOT the mileage is 77k. Honest John have valued the car at £2400 and We buy any car.com around £2000 although they have yet to see the car.
Here comes the question ....
Over the last few months I have noticed the back seat is damp and with increased moisture in cabin there is a lot of condensation on the inside of the windows.
My mechanic who regularly services the car says its a coachwork problem possibly and more likely to be a seal that is faulty - this is more likely with older cars as the seals ware with age. He also says that taking car to a body shop/coachworks could be expensive.
To be honest I think the car is just in average condition albeit with a low mileage.
I have no inclination to investigate the problem and just wish to move on and sell the car.
So rather than getting the problem fixed before selling how much should I reduce the car price by after informing any prospective purchaser of the problem.
Perhaps a difficult question to answer but if I can get an idea that would help.
Thanks in advance ...
