As this will be your wife’s car, it doesn’t really matter whether or not it is to your liking. If she’s likes then CRV, and it has the space you need, get a CRV. The 1.6 dtec is one of few modern diesels which are free from the typical emissions equipment problems which trouble most. In addition to its reliability, it is also very efficient.

Not I wanted to hear mainly because as nice as the CRV is ,it's not as flexible as mpv and a smaller boot although it just about do , but it's our main car hence the added flexibility would have been nice. I know the above cars are decent just wished there was a good mpv style car with reliability. Having said all that, she likes the Honda ,honda it will be ( probably )

Just a little something else.

I've just been looking round at crv's and came across something strange , looking at autotrader and honda approved I came across at least 6 cars that had large missing histories in the cars ,not Mots or tax for upto 17 months on one of the cars. This was also cars ranging from 2014 to 2016 at honda approved and local garages . I've never come across this does anyone have any ideas. I'm going to ring one of the Honda dealers tomorrow and find out more .

I got a check on a local one and nothing came up no SORN just a gap.i have an app that lets you check basic mot info on cars which is how I noticed the gaps , I've checked lots of cars from different companies and not come across this , then all of a sudden all these Honda's

No doubt you will ask the question if you arrange to see such a car and it will be interesting to hear what they say.

It will indeed be interesting to hear what they say but remember the 3 golden rules of car buying that has been quoted many time on here:

1. All salesmen are liars
2. All salesmen are liars
3. refer to rules 1 and 2

Just remember the CRV can have faults like any other car.

Aircon compressor failed on son's 13 plate, appears to be not unusual but fortunately was under Honda extended warranty, as did a rear wheel bearing, mileage low circa 30k ish, the car was bought by a colleague of mine shortly after, has been completely reliable since and flown through 2 more mots to boot, 2 litre petrol.

These repairs would have totalled some £2k at the main dealer had son been paying, both could have been much cheaper via indy garages.
