Dirty, rotten diesel

Supermarket fuel? Might be Shell, might be BP you say.
It might be neither, since BP and Shell have sold or closed their UK refineries.
The remaining UK refineries are operated by Exxon, Ineos, Conoco, Total, Essar, and Texaco.
Then you might be getting supermarket fuel from storage depots like Purfleet, which import from (for example) Rotterdam.

ConocoPhillips do not own any refineries or sell petrol & diesel anywhere in the world

COP are an exploration & oil/gas producer.

The UK refinery that was Conoco in Lincolnshire is now owned by Phillips66 AKA Jet who retail fuels & lubricants

P.S
Shell and BP fuel.
I don't know the source of their gasoline and diesel.

I used to work near kingsbury, warks fuel terminal local gossip was that all tankers filled from same pipeline, all companies, presume drivers added additives after. Any tanker drivers out there who can tell us the usual procedure and if my info correct.

I used to work for an oil company albeit on the lubricants side. However our fuels people confirmed exactly what you state above. It’s the additive package makes the difference for standard fuels. The tanker drivers used to dose the fuel with the company’s proprietary adpack as the tanker was being filled

Agreed ... and a much smaller premium (usually 6c, so less than 6p) over standard fuel than the rip-off Shell / BP fuels in UK

Re High points,
While the driving instructor can buy whatever they like, their successful pupils will notice the difference in their first car, which is likely to be a Fiesta/Nova/C2/etc.

Re: Losing it's Edge
"I moved wheels front to back and the offside front sensor is still telling me the off side front wheel is losing air." The sensors are built into the wheel, well actually the valve. Therefore if moving the wheels did not "move" the problem, it's unlikely to be the sensor, rather the device that measures the data from the sensors on that corner.

Re : Driven to distraction
I was on the M11 earlier, the matrix signs offered advice to drivers (I assume commercial) that they might need extra paperwork to go to the EU after 1st Nov. I stress the "might".
