Skoda Octavia Estate - Vehicle inspections for dispute - Ruby20

Hi - has anyone any recommendations for a company that would carry out a vehicle inspection - have dispute with a garage and want an independent assessment.

I know AA & RAC do them for pre purchase but wondered if there are companies that specialise in after sales inspections?

Thanks - I did speak with them and they will do it but they said they can only confirm the faults exist but not that they would have been present at the time of purchase which I believe some other companies do? Or is the lady I spoke to incorrect?

Any inspection on the car today can only tell you faults that exist today. It's very difficult to prove the fault existed at the time of purchase. As HJ often says it's possible to destroy a perfectly working clutch in 15 minutes by a determined driver! How long have you had the car? The longer the time period between now and the time of purchase, the less likely the fault identified today was present at the time of purchase.

Perhaps as a future lesson it's wise to have an independent check performed before you buy the car.

You might be right but you don't know. Both these people seem to be in need of expert reports on their respective vehicles where there are disputes. Lets be charitable and assume that maybe, just maybe, Ms Chapple saw response to Ruby's post and thought aha!! I could use that too.

Equally, maybe, just maybe, it would be better if you shred your suspicion of trolling with the Mod or HJ instead of 'calling posters out'. They can presumably check IP addresses and other techie stuff to see if there's a connection.

That suggests to me that Ruby and Louise are one and the same.

But if there is proof to the contrary fair enough.

Perhaps more likely that Louise has responded to a different thread by mistake. Her original is in the Legal section.

But it really doesn't matter!

I have taken out any suggestion of trolling. The usual definition of a troll is someone who deliberately upsets people online in order to start a quarrel.
