I'm considering changing my car for either a Nissan Qashqai or Hyundai Tucson.

I had A Tucson a few years ago, 54 plate and loved it, except for the running costs, petrol /Road tax.

I see the newer ones are more economical 16 plate. Obviously, I'm aware I need a good towing vehicle for a lightweight 2 berth caravan, I'll be doing a lot of mileage, not just driving it on short trips.

The Nissan Qashqai?

I don't know much about these and would appreciate some feedback please

Many thanks ?

I had the JJ12 Quashqai. 2litre dci Auto 4wd. I swapped it for a 1.4turbo petrol Auto Suzuki Vitara. Almost as powerful more economical and 444 kilos lighter.

I really like the Vitara. I much prefer it to the Tucson. Having driven one around Texas. The Tucson managed to be both underpowered yet quite thirsty by comparison..

Go test drive a new Vitara.

The Nissan is nothing more than a rebadged Renault with the same if not worse record for reliability. I wouldn’t touch one. The Hyundai however is a robust, sensible and rather pleasant looking small SUV. Buy one with a full dealer history and you’ll get the remainder of that excellent manufacturer 5yr unlimited mileage warranty too. Approved used stock is the best and worth paying a bit more for. It’s a car I’d buy myself.

As above...wouldn't touch the Nissan...Hyundai is much better...but I'd second the Vitara choice too.
