It only has GM/Vauxhall approval - other brands need a different specification.

Newer Vauxhalls which were specified Dexos 2 have had that amended to Dexos 1 Gen 2, a new specification oil to help with Low Speed Pre Ignition (LSPI). Maybe Shell/ECP have a warehouse full of the old stuff they're trying to shift.

I buy Shell 4-litre packs for my bike from eBay vendors, it's so much cheaper - £22 for 4 litres of full GTL synthetic compared with £16 per litre from a Shell garage. As long as the seller is reputable (like the one you linked to) it's fine.

The main dealer uses Shell Ultra Extra in my Subaru = £50 + VAT. I do an oil change in between services but that oil seems a bit TOO cheap for my liking.

Here in Taiwan fake oils are alleged to be a significant risk (Agip gets mentioned) but I've heard of it happening with Ebay sales in the UK.

My tactic is to buy from large supermarkets (RT-MART and Carrefour here. Costco no longer stock anything I would buy, having gone entirely fashionably skinny), who hopefully have some control over the supply chain, and not to buy expensive oil, which is more likely to be targeted.

Expensive oil just isn't worth the risk.

Helix 5w-30 comes in different designations. I buy AF for one of my cars. Last 5 litre can cost £21.12 from carparts4less.co.uk on one of their many discount weekends.

Eve that comes in 'Ultra Professional' or 'HX7' variants. Mine was the UP but I don't know the difference.
