Meguiars Black plastic restorer - Jungerns

Bought some of this stuff somewhat expensive but its done a sublime job on the face of it.....anyone else have experience of the stuff inotherwards will the "effect" last on the car after it rains a few times etc etc

Am not expecting miracles obviously....

I use the stuff sold for £1 on my motorcycle plastics and on my car, rarely I confess. Works fine.

I love it. I've tried a few over the years. "Back to black" spray was my usual favourite until this.

Used it some years ago having had great success with other Meguiars products.

But this is one I would not buy again. Looks great when applied but once the rain hits it dries in whiteish spots or streaks. Only way to sort is to re-apply.

Never bothered with a similar product.

I can't say I've seen that happen on the external plastics on the cars I've owned while using it. Perhaps they've now improved the product since you last used it?

My experience ever since these sorts of products were introduced is that once you start applying them you never finish. After applying whatever the choice of goo sunlight starts to fade the plastic at a quicker rate than if left alone so you are for ever chasing blackness.

Many years ago on a car I ended up having to spray the plastic with black paint in order to achieve the original finish.

Autosmart's ''Finish'' is very good for plastic surfaces, plastic interiors too, B to B fades quickly.

I've found the cheapest and most thorough product is washing up liquid with water in a bucket-applied with brush and sponge followed by a good rinse. Then drive car forward by a few inches and repeat process. Do this once a week and you'll always have nice clean tyres. I don't want a gloss finish on mine.

Could I tag on to this thread by asking for opinions on Meguair's Headlight Restoration Kit. The lenses on the headlights of my Mazda 6 have misted over quite badly to the extent that the headlight beam (not particularly good before the misting took place) is noticeably affected. Meguar's stuff generally gets good press but the headlight kit is not exactly cheap at £20. If I thought that it would work I would invest but I would like to know in advance that there would likely be an improvement. Opinions would be very welcome.
