The C class is by far the nicest to drive but then no SUV is particularly entertaining to pilot so comparing it with the CRV or Sportage depends very much on how much space you need and whether you enjoy a B road blast or tend to be a bit more relaxed behind the wheel. The C class estate with the 2.2 diesel and auto box is a good car but I’d only buy if there’s a good genuine Merc specialist nearby as their main dealers are hugely overpriced for servicing and repairs.
I had a 2014 CRV 1.6 diesel for 4yrs and found it a perfectly good big family wagon. Comfy, spacious and excellent on fuel but totally dull to drive. It suits an auto box but sadly this is only an option with the much thirstier 4wd with the older 2.2 diesel or later 1.6 twin turbo. For your mileage I’d have a nice 1.6 twin turbo diesel auto with a full Honda history.
I’d leave the Sportage, it’s ok but the CRV is a better SUV and the Merc is vastly better to drive. Find one of each and test drive both to see what one floats your boat. Spend the extra to get one with a full main dealer history.
