Hi Everyone
Back in February I noticed my car making a squealing noise and the wipers started stopping mid-wipe. The car had it's MOT and service in March whereby they advised I needed a new auxiliary belt and wiper blades. They fitted new wiper blades and passed in through the MOT.
Not long after (probably about a week) the wipers barely worked - they would randomly wipe once or twice before stopping (and wouldn't work at all on the highest setting). When they did work, it was like they did not have enough power to move properly. I thought the cause may have been related to the auxiliary belt so had that replaced yesterday and the problem persists (despite me asking the garage to check the wipers as well!)
What is odd though, is that if I lift the wipers off the screen the wipers will move and work. It's almost as if the friction of the new wiper blades is beating the force the wipers can produce.
Also, I can hear a click noise whenever I try to turn the wipers on (at any speed) which I think is coming from the fuse box.
Before I start calling garages (as Mitsubishi have told me I need to wait to the end of May) has anyone encountered this before or have an idea what it could be?
If it's the motor, how much are they?
