Mazda B-Series - Low emission zone fine - sandomenico

Hi all, I've just been slapped with a £250 fine for inadvertently driving within the London low emission zone, in my old Mazda pick-up. I was under the impression that you were issued with a warning for the first time you were picked up driving in the LEZ (not the reason I drove within it BTW) Anything I can do about it?

Make sure you pay promptly or after 14 days that fine goes up to £500.

I have the greatest sympathy, there's enough to be watching out for without all that faff.

On the bright side, never having to go anywhere near that London hell hole again unless being paid extremely well to drive an exempt vehicle has to be the best news anyone still sane could hear.

Your impression/belief was wrong, you have no option but to pay.
Be aware other UK cities are also creating such zones

Your post states you entered the LEZ so unless there's been a mistake around it's type and need for a LEZ permit there's no mileage in an appeal. As others have pointed out pay the £250 whilst you can.

Like Council Parking fines and Congestion Charge fines it WILL go to bailiffs if ignored and the cost will escalate.
