I have found a burn on the passanger seat approximately 10mm long 2mm wide. I'm a non smoker and no one smokes in the car. I had my windscreen replaced a couple of weeks ago. Do repairers use hot tools or tools that get hot due t to friction? they may have been placed on the seat. Thanks

Possibly a heated sealant gun but you’ll have a job proving it two weeks later. Are you the only person who uses the car? Not even the slightest possibility of a son, daughter or partner having a friend in the car who smokes and they dont want to admit it?

All sorts of heating tools could have been used. Does the car have heated seats ? If it does , then could be a heating element burnt through.

I have seen windscreens being removed with a thing like a heated chees wire pulled round the glass to cut the old bonding compound.
