SAAB 9-3 Convertible petrol Aero automatic - Car does not start after use . - doncaster
The car was first registered in 2003 and has a long standing intermittent problem. It always starts first tine despite only being used once or twice a week. On odd occasions the car has refused to start when left for a short time. The warning lights come on but the car will not crank. If I leave the car for about two hours it will immediately start again. I have replaced the battery recently and the car can drive as it should for weeks only for the problem to reoccur. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Alan.

If this is the model with the ignition key on the floor, I have seen ignition switch faults give this problem .

Yes it is. Some months ago when I had the problem I managed to start the car after locking and unlocking the car with the key in the ignition switch. Thanks for your help.
