On this engine the oil cooler is bolted to the front of the block, and both oil and water enter and leave via holes in the block. There is a complex set of gaskets behind the cooler to isolate the various passages from each other and the outside world. Unless the cooler is split, the replacing the gaskets may be enough. In fact, just tightening the bolts may stop it.
