re. Key whole surgery
New Toyotas with smart entry & start now also can disable the fob transmitter (both for battery life & theft prevention by signal boosting).

Never ever had a problem with the link to the second page loading, more likely to be an issue with your browser.

Like the OP I've often experienced the link not working first thing. It's a glitch on the site.

Not a browser problem as it happens on my ipad and pc. It's always working later in the day on either system.

It has happened to me a few times; I get a "Page not found" error; however I can open part 2 without issue by using the link from the main page, so def a website issue with the link not being updated when the new sections are made live.

The solution is simple.

Just bookmark

which gives you links directly.

Re : Key whole surgery

The distance the car is from the key is irrelevant, think about it, if the key cannot "find" the key it does not allow entry, that's why these scallies use a booster to "find" the key inside a house. Therefore the excuse about running down the battery is rubbish, if the car can't "find" the key it does not matter if the key is 20 feet away or still in Japan (as it's a Toyota), as long as it's out of range the car will behave in the same away. As the problem developed in the last few years, I suggest that the root of the problem is not the key or the leyless system. Are you using the car less? Or perhaps the car's battery does not hold the same charge, but the drain from such an electronic system will be minimal.

If you get the camber or toe-in adjusted to a non-manufacturer setting, should you notify you insurance company of this "modification" in order to ensure that you insurance is not found to be invalid?
