Nissan Note Accenta Premium - Lining Coming Away - Zippy123

Mrs brought a Nissan Note Accenta Premium in May 2016 as a pre-reg with 2 miles on the clock.

Generally she is happy with the car and it was a very good price.

However, there is an annoying glitch. The cream lining on the near side A pillar keeps coming away. There is a clip and the dealer has attempted to fix it half a dozen times without long term success. It stays in place for between a day and a week. All the dealer does is clip the lining back in place and the clip is a plastic male / female type affair attached to the back of the lining (male) and the metal of the A pillar (female).

Mrs wants to upgrade to a Juke (I know) soon and doesn’t want this problem evident when she comes to sell the car.

How can we get the dealer to fix the problem permanently, especially considering they have had a number of tries already?

Thanks!

You seem to be able to get to the back of it so just stick it on with some double sided tape or a bit blue tack so if needed you can get it off. Stronger glue if you never need to get it off.

Seconded the tape suggestion. Its available in various thicknesses depending on whether you need it thick make up a gap or to be as slim as possible.

Earlier this year I refixed the dummy airvent in my front bumper when some of the lugs broke off with a very thin tape. Its stood firm all summer. Its PE Foam Tape made by Sanojtape. It was less than a tenner online.

Dont diss the Juke. I have one as a company car (best of an awful choice, another story), a Tekna 1.5dci with leather. October 2015 first reg, turned over 60,000 miles yesterday and other than chaffed air pipes replaced under warranty in 2017, and a small oil leak, it's been a very good car. And I do drive my cars moderately hard. Average 56-57mpg and I run it in sport mode.

Only real criticism is the small boot and the rubbish quality finish on the 'diamond cut alloys' as all will need a refurb before car is returned to lease co next autumn.

This is not because it is a Nissan, it is because they are diamond cut alloys. They are all going look rubbish after a couple of years unless by some miracle you have managed to avoid any sort of break or chip on the surface. Once this happens, the laquer will lift around it and take on that horrible milky appearance. The only way to avoid it is to buy a car which does not have diamond cut alloys, which these days, is going to be tricky!.
