VW Touran 1.9 TDI 105 PS - What CV joint to use? How many teeth? Confused :( - Pshemek

Hi,

I need to replace CV joint in my VW Touran, 2005 1.9TDI 105 HP. I had one replaced two months ago, the brand was Spidan. Now need to replace the other one coz it started knocking. My mechanic in London does not know this brand, he suggested I buy it and he will swap. I found it online but there are two types suitable for my car, one with 27 and the other with 30 teeth. Even eurocarparts.co.uk shows two types when I enter my reg number. How can I tell which one to choose? The best woul be to remove it, count the teeth and put it back, then order and bring it to the mechanic. But isn't it too much work?

Is there another way? Tried to find by VIN but it seems it is only suitable for trade.

So it is this one www.buycarparts.co.uk/spidan/7147559 vs this one www.buycarparts.co.uk/spidan/7117477

Can someone help with this?

Thanks a lot for any help

Possibly if you removed the big nut from the drive shaft you could see the splines through the centre of the wheel and count the splines that way.

Buy both from ECP and return the wrong one.

Get the mechanic to supply and fit the CV joint.

As Chris says buy both from ECP, make sure you click and collect and get the 35 to 50% discount and return the one not needed (unopened preferably)

You can return home delivery items to any branch of ECP.

As Ian says, make sure you use whatever discount code they have running and also worth going via Topcashback or similar.
