Any - New European wide fuel labelling - Theophilus

French media is reporting that new "standardised" fuel labelling is coming in as from next week (12 October) - I haven't seen any reference to this in British media, but the legislation is said to be Europe-wide (not just EU states) so presumably including UK whether Brexit or not.

Instead of “Unleaded” and “Diesel”, pumps will be labelled with standardised letters and numbers, corresponding to the type of fuel, and the amount of biofuel it contains (E5/E10 for petrol; B7/B10 for diesel).

A recipe for more misfuelling confusion!

Filled-up a hire car at Brussels Airport yesterday. Standard unleaded only available in E10 form, (didn't read the E content on "super unleaded" label), but it make me double-check for any warnings inside the filler flap before I filled-up, as my oil burner back home has a warning not to use bio-diesel.

You had better scrap it then! Only B7 or B10 will be available.

It will be down to the UK to decide whether to adopt this - www.fleeteurope.com/en/taxation-and-legislation/eu...e
