MK6 GOLF - Heater core replacement??? - Roy Brown

Hi

Looking to know has anyone ever removed the heater core in a mk6 golf? Its down by the passenger side (RHD car), side panel of the dash can be removed but still not much access

Watched a video online for a jetta of the same shape/era and it looked a lot more simple with more room to work with

Would like to hear from anyone that has tried this on this model?

never done one,

and I'm not being lazy but I hate doing matrix cores.

I would definately try a off stop leak first.

Less than a fiver,

Slides out the side of the heater box. You will need to de-couple the coolant pipe fittings and also there are various bits of interior trim that will need to be removed. Depending on what type heater installed, you may need to remove some of the servo actuator motors. Is it leaking or blocked?
