retrospectively informing about a claim - pb79

Hi All,

Someone rear ended me in early 2017 and the other driver claimed on her insurance. Maybe naively i did not inform my insurer.

I'm currently looking at ammending my policy for a new car purchase. should i inform the company about the previous incident?

Cheers

Presumably you've already renewed once since the shunt. If so I think your insurers would have mentioned the matter to you then if they had been approached by the Third Party's insurers.I acn't see how telling them now will be particularly helpful.

If the T&C's of your policy state that you must inform them of all accident events, even if not claiming, then that is what you have to do.

Many insurers increase the Fee, if you had been the subject to a 'no fault' event, as statistically you are more likely to have another claim
