Is there any way of switching off the 'self-levelling' ads on either side of the page? Horrible to experience and I use the site less now purely becasue of them. Couldn't even tell you who advertises this way, I just leave the site.

Self-levelling on a motoring website should be for suspension references only ;-)

They are pretty distracting and annoying.

But the site needs to make money, hey ho!.

Advertising keeps this forum and many others free for us all to use.

Just install AdBlock as an extension in your browser and your good to go.:-)

I don't see them.

Ghostery, Ad Block Plus, Tampermonkey (good for Facebook) and Opera's own ad-blocker.
