I'd be very grateful for any advice please.
On driving off the car started juddering as if it was the clutch, but the engine light came on and it continues to run roughly, sounding like it's running on three cylinders.
It's at its worst when pulling off from a standing start - juddering badly and a slight clattering noise. I've driven it about four miles since it happened, but am obviously very relectant to use it again.
I'm wondering if it is linked to a problem that it's had for 18 months or so, which I always though was the clutch and idling issue - slight clutch judder when pulling away from standing start (only when cold) and it being very difficult to change gear (particularly 1st to second) without riding the clutch - as if when you depress the clutch the revs drop but then momentarily race again making it seem like the clutch is slipping. I thought this might be a slight oil leak onto the clutch / fly wheel which burned off once it got hot, so I had it checked and all was OK.
I'd really appreciate any help - if it might be a common fault (I've driven several petrol Zafiras and one Astra and every one had a difficult clutch, or what seemd like that).
Thanks very much
Edit - 62,000 miles on the clock, by the way
