Apologies to anyone who salivated at the v6 in the title! We had a v6 box installed last October, replacing a TiVo box. The difference is like night and day, it’s faster, more capable and has vast storage capacity for recorded items. However, the thing packed up in July and a new one was installed. 2 days ago the replacement packed up too, so we have the so-called engineer coming out tomorrow and no doubt the solution will be a further replacement. That’s 2 units failed in 10 months. I’m wondering if this is just bad luck or if other VM customers have had similar experience. It is not unknown for new whizzy technology to be rushed out before it has been properly tested.
I gather like the Sky Q it had to go through a testing phase before it`s release and are still updating the software, since I`ve had it (when it first came out) I think its had updates several times a week, imo its the best box to date and with the broadband get about 85mbps
I think like all boxes, improvements could be made and are probably being worked on
