MG3 Re-vamp - daveyK_UK

Impressive facelift and interior over haul

10/10 for effort, a vast improvement

From honest john -

In its price range, the MG3 is up against heavily discounted pre-reg, pre-WLTP cars such as the Vauxhall Corsa 1.4 from just £7,495. Buyers might also consider a Dacia Sandero or Logan, though neither of these are anywhere near as much fun to drive. Value for money seekers may gravitate to the slow but throroughly decent new Dacia Duster 1.6SCe Comfort with satnav at £13,195.

But if you treasure positive steering, grip and handling and the feeling of being at one with a car, the MG3 is truly worthy of its MG badge. There are no deposit finance packages from just £149 a month. And a 7 year, 80,000 mile warranty.

Much prettier, and the MG GS will also receive the new front..

Looks like someone at MG read the "plastic turd" comments in The Sun review and acted.

Spacewise if i wanted to replace the venga The ZS would be a thought, The Kia stonic/hyundai kona is smaller inside than the Venga, and £4000 more than the MG ZS.

The MG Zs is cavernous.. you can carry a LOT of stuff in the boot.. and dealers are supplying full size spare wheels with them on request.

Big improvement but it’ll still cost more to run than dearer rivals thanks to horrific depreciation. Be a great used buy though especially with a bit of that warranty left.

Well, if you're only spending £7,500 you can only lose £7,500! If you keep the car for 5 years and scrap it - it still only works out at £125 per month.

I'd be more than happy to get one for the missis - the only problem is she has a Suzuki SX4 so there's no reason to change it coz absolutely nothing ever goes wrong with it!

Not a bad little car at all. Far better than a Dacia Sandero. I think that sticking with the larger naturally aspirated petrol engine rather than a 1.0 3 cylinder turbo isn't a bad thing.

Without wishing to sound contrary for the sake of it, I think the original front was much neater and cohesive.

I really think modern grilles are a piece of bling jewellery on modern cars.

On this, it takes over the front of the car.

Perhaps it won't look so bad in real life. But the parrot beak of the GS and this before were putting me off.

I suspect that sales will improve. th cars look more mainstream.

now stick the 1.5 turbo in it and it'll really shift.

I agree and so do all the car review publications

If this car had a half decent engine in it, they would be on to a real winner

Sadly, the 1,5 unit with its peak power at 4,700 revs is antiquated

Even with the old tech engine, its stil a better all round package than the Dacia Sandero to own and drive.

I think I would prefer the 1.5 turbo to the GM derived 1.o 3 cyl turbo that mg are using in the ZS.. but early days..
