Does not include Swift Sport or Celerio and must be registered by end of June. I expect choice on spec and colour will be limited.

Probably still cheaper to go to a broker, or ask dealer to match broker price ...

My friend got quotes on a new Suzuki Vitara this week on carwow, the dealers who quoted will give an additional £1,000 off their prices this weekend only.

I did ring the local dealer. He said (as would be expected) that after the offer ends he wouldn't get anywhere near the discounts available this weekend ... you would have expected that but on an Ignis it did seem to be a good deal....more so due to the lower price of an Ignis but still getting a fixed £1000 off versus a dearer model and still getting the same £1000 off ... if you know what I mean.

I might have shown more interest but the automatic Ignis has an automated manual transmission (ASG) and even the salesmen conceded " it does take a bit of getting used to".

Drive the Deal are charging £400 more than the "weekend offer" price from the dealer provided you go via PCP. which, of course, (or at least, 'presumably') can be cancelled a day after completion. So, at least on an Ignis it's a genuine bargin.

A mate drove an auto Vitara recently, on my recommendation, and said it felt OK, but somewhat "run of the mill" and a bit tinny. I think he felt the doors a bit flimsey and the interior a bit ordinary. But, I guess it's slightly cheaper than the others?

An auto Vitara or the more powerful and better equipped Vitara S.?

The 1.6 non turbo ... not the 1.4 S

I don't think he was overly troubled by the way it went, but just the "ambience" and overall impression - if that's not a bit too posh sounding. He was more impressed by the Mazda CX3 he drove.

He's not a perfectionist by any means and isn't accustomed to prestige stuff ... he just wasn't overwhelmed with it.

Seems to be a few dealership networks pushing sales this month, the Nissan/Renault/Dacia dealership that my mate works at are under pressure to hit a big quarterly target by the end of June although this may be a dealership target as opposed to a manufacturer target (he didn’t specify).
Either way, dealers willing to be a bit more flexible on margins and extras than usual which is no bad thing for the consumer with the exchange rates in their current state.

Nissan UK products (Qashqai, Juke, Leaf) should look good value in terms of price compared to rivals considering their home advantage reduces the impact of a weaker pound.
