Wow just been looking at the price of new cars, and comparing with what I know the family was paying 12 months ago, seems to have gone up remarkably for 12 months

Yes, I notice the same. I guess a fair bit of it is down to the fall in the value of the £ and the rise of PCPs etc where all some people consider is the monthly payment so manufacturers can raise prices by stealth. Also general inflation has been creeping up over the last couple of years.

I stll recall the surprise when I saw the list price of the cheapest Focus went over £20k and that you can spend nearly £40k on an S-Max.

Of course nobody pays these prices in reality so the underlying rises in price paid may be lower.

Just provides scope for advertising "huge discounts" - soon it'll be the DFS furniture model - "50% this weekend", etc.
