Fiesta Titanium - New car or is it? - Mystified
I have a new plate Fiesta Titanium on a pcp deal. When I was being talked through the controls at the showroom the Sat Nav had a pre set destination for an area hundreds of miles from where I live. The cap, where a computer can be connected to the digital system under the drivers seat, was hanging loose. Also there was scuffing to the bodywork just below the rear windscreen wipers. A friend of my son who has a body repair shop thinks they were made by trade plates and believes I may have taken delivery of an ex demonstrator. I can't prove anything but I don't think it would have left the factory with marks and unconnected bits. Am not sure what to do and would appreciate any opinions. I like the car but don't like the the idea of possibly being provided with what effectively might be a second hand car.

The total mileage on the odometer should give you a clue. Also make sure that you're the first owner of the car.

It could have been sourced from another Ford dealer's showroom, where someone may have played with the satnav.

Thanks. I'm wondering if software was used to reset the mileage which was very low. That would account for the cap dangling free. I've just remembered there were no floor mats in the car and they had to take some from a showroom car. The registration document shows me to be the first owner though.

Have you accepted the car already? If so, and the dealer didn't fix the damaged bodywork, then you'll have a hard time when the PCP deal ends. If you plan to make the balloon payment and keep the car then it doesn't matter, but if you want to change it or hand it back then you'll need to get the damage repaired.

Damaged bodywork on a brand new car is unacceptable.

It’s not uncommon to find paintwork damage on a new car from transport or caused at the dealership itself. The PDI should pick it up, this looks like it’s been missed here. Don’t drive off with any damage on a new car. Insist it’s fixed or the car is replaced. If you drive away then it’s impossible to prove it was there on delivery.
